Last Day of 2010

Today marks the last day of Year 2010. To me, 2010 flashes pass really quickly. In a blink of an eye, it's the 31st of December. It still felt as though 2010 just started. Nevertheless, it has been a really good and fruitful year for me, many ups and downs as well. It felt like yesterday when I received my "O" Level results which was in January and I couldn't describe the uptight feeling on the first day of my poly life. So far, I hadn't regret anything that I had done this year, I knew many lovely friends from RP this year and my relationship with bibi had been a smooth one throughout the year. All seems too good to be true. Haha. Anyway, I just received my bursary money as well as GIRO refund - Its ending with a good note huh? Well, I'll wish everyone a blessed new year for 2011. May it be a fruitful one for all of us!

Backtracking to 27th December, I received my X'mas present from bibi.

Knowing that I love Merci chocolates, he specially got it for me and there's my favourite - Praline! How could I resist the temptations!

Dinner with my family after which and we had Mayim.

Very well marinated chicken. Meat was succulent.

And here's my favourite dessert, Mango Sago with Pomelo. Mum promised to make this dessert for Chinese New Year!

On the 28th of December, bibi and me decided to catch 'Gulliver's Travels' at Cathay Cineleisure since they are having student price promotions on a weekday. Thankfully we reached on time and managed to get the couple seats right at the back of the theatre! I like couple seats in Cathay as it feels like a sofa instead of a seat.

Although we would probably have known the plot of the show by now, I guess it is still an enjoyment that last for an hour and a half. In my opinion, I felt that the show was probably too short, maybe extend to 2 hours? The climax was well-narrated but the beginning of the plot could have been more detailed. Nonetheless, we had enjoyed the show after all and definitely humourous!

Happy New Year all! Enjoy the last of 2010 :)

24th Dec - Christmas Eve, 14th Monthsary, Bro's Birthday

Coincidentally enough, all the major events happens to fall nicely on the 24th of December. Hence, it took me awhile to plan all the events chronologically so as not to neglect either one. We've decided to celebrate my bro's birthday lunch over at Marché VivoCity, head out with Bibi to celebrate our monthsary and back home in the night to celebrate X'mas Eve.

So let's begin with the day.. We prepared and met papa at Dover before heading to Marché for lunch. Being Christmas Eve, I believe many corporate companies dedicate a half-day for most of their staffs which explain the volume of lunch-time crowds in the restaurant itself.

The two cows have always been their representation, and if you hadn't noticed, they are dressed in X'mas suits.

The interior of the restaurant are furnished in a way that complements with their concept of a market place whereby you are given a guest card and would have to queue up at the respective sections e.g. Seafood, Bakery. The staffs would tap your card once you had made your order and you would have to wait for them to prepare your dish on the spot. Please do not be mistaken that it is a buffet meal else, you would definitely burnt a hole in your pocket!

We're thankful that we are seated near the Seafood Section, segregated with most of the crowds.

For starters, I had a slice of garlic bread and creme of mushroom soup. I would like to compliment that the soup is no ordinary mushroom soup that you had at Pizza Hut, the soup is really flavourful with numerous mushroom bits, although it costs $4.80 which is quite pricey for a bowl of soup but it is value-for-money in my opinion.

For the main course, I had Smoked Salmon Fillet with a plate of steamed rice. It came shortly after 15 mins. I like it the fact that it is freshly cooked and the salmon used got to be really fresh, based on my encounter. This dish costs $15.80 and the spices that they used complements well with the salmon meat. The meat is not cooked way too dry, leaving some juices when you chewed on it gradually.

Failed to take a picture of the desert which I thought that is the favourite dish of all - The Strawberry & Chocolate Crepe. I'm not a fan of chocolate ice cream and I thought that the scoop would have to be an ordinary one. I was wrong, there are numerous thin plates of chocolate bits in the ice cream which really came as a surprise. I love how it melts and goes with the crepe. Very delectable!

The bill amounts up to $98 for 4. Unfortunately, the switzerland delights are not up to my preference of my mummy. Well, taste are subjective right? In my opinion, I would definitely want to come back for the crepe

I met up with Bibi at Outram afterwards and we head down to Town with hopes to catch Gulliver's Travels. Unfortunately, the film for the upcoming time slots are selling fast which only left individual seatings and front-row seatings which we do not prefer. We thought that it would be wiser to watch it next week since there'll be student price and more seat varieties instead! We headed off to Lau Par Sat for the infamous Fatman Satay as Bibi had to purchase 140 sticks of satays while my papa asked me to purchase 40 sticks for the night. We waited till 7pm for the particular stall to start operation. It was a long wait given that there was a large amount of orders.

Happy 13th birthday, brother! So blessed to have a log cake as birthday cake!

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, everyone!

Eat.Shop.Love.

A very sumptuous dinner I had last night. I failed to take more of the food pictures which we had including Tahu Kipas, Ikan Gurame, Cumi-Cumi Bakar, Sate Ayam etc probably because we were too famished to wait till I had finished taking the pictures one by one. I am still upset with the fact that I had not yet sank my tooth on the Jus Alpukat which I've been raving on for so long, even in Singapore. Anyway, all these food costs around IDR$325,000 (SGD$50) which I thought was pretty decent for the quantity and quality of food served.

Shopping at GI Shopping Town had always been a joy for me and my friends. So I managed to get all these at a price of IDR$780,000 (SGD$120). Hehe, if you've noticed, the color palettes are almost of the same. I've been very much into the sand/taupe this season.

Hopefully today I'll start on something productive and have my fun over the other parts of the city!
Have a lovely holidays! xx

Love Is Unconditional

Back tracking a little, we had an awesome time in town on the 21st December, just before I head off to Pasir Ris for class chalet. It was a really last minute shopping for gifts I would say. Also, we managed to take a shot of the christmas tree in Ion since it was really packed the other day.

There was a series of activities lined up in the streets of Orchard, along the walkways right in front of Wisma and Ngee Ann City. There's this booth that invites us to "vandelize" the glass walls with our definitions of what love is. Coincidentally, we had the same thinking that "Love is unconditional" which explains the writings in the picture shown above. Perhaps if you are keen, you could drop by the booth there as it is free of charge and would be there till probably X'mas or so.

We had our lunch over at Lucky Plaza. I would recommend this store, asides Ayam Penyet Ria, as they sells really good Malay cuisines. Tricia and I had Nasi Goreng and Thai Sweet and Sour Fish respectively. An ex-colleague of mine recommended me this store at the ground floor back when I was working in Paragon.

We took a break over at Starbucks Liat Tower while waiting for Huifang to return her text on what gifts we should help her get. In the end, we had to make our way back to Ngee Ann City just to get the gifts from Crabtree & Evelyn. Nevertheless, it was a day well-spent with Tricia and thanks for accompanying me throughout the day. Hehe! Till the next shopping trip ;)

All I Want For Christmas Is You

So as the title implies, I was out to town for half a day to do some pre-christmas shopping for gifts. It took me quite a while to complete my to-buy-list. We literally went from Dhoby and walked all the way up to Orchard, mall by mall. It was awesome that Mango's having a 50% storewide sale and I got Tricia her christmas gift after patronizing 3 outlets throughout town area. I swear I had overspent this month :( :( I need to save up on my allowance once school starts.

Gong Cha to kick start the day. It was a wrong move for me to purchase the Alisan Milk Tea, it was really horrible. Perhaps I should just stick to the usual milk tea.

We had our lunch over at Lucky Plaza, Ayam Penyet Ria. It's been so long since I've frequent that place. I still love the food there as compared to the other branches. I've always been introducing this place to many of my friends, all of them agreed with me that they're good, at least in Singapore. We had Otak2, Ayam Penyet, Keropok Udang & Emping. I thought people are stoked by the capacity that we could gobble down within 30 minutes, literally. A pity was that Jus Alpukat was sold out, again. I guess I just hadn't the luck.

In Paragon and Ngee Ann City respectively.

Generally, a well spent day today except for the volume of crowds which I loathe it totally. I hope that this coming Monday would be better since it falls on a weekday.

3 days since baby had gone and I'm missing him badly. I think this is the longest time ever that we had not contact each other ever since we've been together. I hope that he'll reach Singapore by Monday night :(
