I've watched the first 16 episodes of 'Breakout' on MIO consecutively in front of the television for the past weeks. I'm glad to comment that this is one of the few Mediacorp drama shows that I really love, be it the plot, casts or skills. Till the 16th episode, I thought that DYT/Zhou Ying and Elvin/Zhou Ying makes a really good couple which makes me strapped as to which combination to root for. Perhaps DYT's acting skills may seem normal in the first few episodes, I thought that upon reaching the climax (somewhere around the 16th episode), DYT seems to have much internal emotions to be expressed. Somehow, the chemistry between DYT & Zhou Ying touched me, alot (especially the hospital scene whereby DYT cried).
Although DYT plays the villain in this show, he is kind-hearted in nature. He changes probably due to the environment that he grew up in, where he is trained in Myanmar with his dad that brought him up that causes him to be who he is now. Of course, Elvin really portrayed and acted out his role well, very convincingly which I believe that it would be another peak for his career. Zhou Ying, needless to say, have already successfully made all the audiences fall for her. I would wish to see more of Christopher/Jeanette scenes, probably in the later episodes? Hopefully I'll get to see DYT, Elvin and Zhou Ying vying for the upcoming Star Awards.
