My first posting in this new little space of mine. I'm back to blogging, once again. I just couldn't hitch off this habit of mine that I've kept for years. No doubt, you got me right. It's Borobudur, I just feel like blogging about this historical asset, existing still after restoration projects that took place over many years. Many may know that it is located at Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia. Yet, how many may know that this Buddhist monument had actually been through many?
What I felt and like about this historical monument is that it is based in a Javanese dominated city, whereby it adds another layer of significance by reflecting a mixture of Buddhism and Javanese culture.
Speaking of the Javanese culture, while many tourists would visit Yogyakarta for its rich heritage of its culture, yet often many are not knowing that there is still another city that possess and retains its Javanese culture - Surakarta. Hereby, I urge those who have the intention to know more about its heritage to visit both Yogyakarta and Surakarta because it is only by visiting them both, where you can actually gain a thorough understanding on such a unique culture.
On a lighter note, I hope to own a set of DSLR before I embark on this little journey of mind travelling. Would anyone be willing to get me as a present for my birthday this year? *pout*
Matur nuwun.
