Virgin Trip to MBS

So this is literally my first ever trip to Marina Bay Sands (MBS) ever since its official opening. I got to love its surroundings because everything seems so peaceful on a weekday afternoon, it's just like a peaceful corner in a buzzling city centre. Of course, the only thing that partially ruins this image are the construction sites nearby that are constructing new skyscrapers.

I guessed that both bibi and me had took the wrong exit as we had to walk a really long route to reach MBS. The sun was scorching hot and I couldn't resist but to gulp down water along the way.

There was not much people as you can see from the empty streets around.

If you're having a stay over at MBS, you could have the view of the Singapore River with skylines of Fullerton Bay Hotel and the Esplanade under your feet. The view and scenery is just fabulous, needless to say. I have a fetish for the sea because it makes me reflect, I just seems to enjoy looking at the sea most of my time and reflect on the bits and pieces of issues that happened haha.

Finally, we've reached The Shoppes At Marina Bay Sands after a long walk. It's really windy over there unlike the journey we've took, it is justified with the way my hair flows. I gotta admit its in a big mess due to the wind.

The mall is really empty, probably because its on a weekday. Its bustling with commuters only at the basement where the foodcourt is located because its lunch time when we're there.

They could have signed more vendors that cater to food outlets instead of concentrating more towards the fashion boutiques because we couldn't seem to find any affordable cafes or restaurants in the proximity. That's something which is disappointing since we've to walk all the way to the Singapore Flyer to get our lunch with hungry stomachs.

However, I like their concept of incorporating the style of Venice into the mall, a rather fresh concept in Singapore which no other malls had used, although it is similar to that in Macau.

Geez. Maybe I'll have a go in the sampan next time i'm back there.

We're back on our way to the Singapore Flyer to have Popeyes. I love today because it is great for phototaking as the clouds really portrays the pictures well especially this photograph whereby there is a clear distinctive line drawn between the white clouds and the blue sky. Although it does not seems to be sunny as reflected in the picture, it is in fact scorching hot and we're sort of sweating and ranting on how hot it can get.

We heaved a sigh of relief when we're able to walk into Helix Bridge because it spells shelter, away from direct sunlight. ^^

Shall end off my post with a picture of bibi! Haha, thanks for the day, really enjoyed myself. Much loves.

Girls' Day Out

I guess most of you would have guessed where we've been to today - Vivo City. We've managed to meet up for a mini outing after an arduous semester (15 weeks exclusive of some holidays intervals). Both of them are my wonderful pals throughout the entire of my secondary school life. I kinda reminiscence the days we've spent back in secondary school, unlike the hectic ones in poly and we've enrolled ourselves into different school and courses :( Nonetheless, it is great to meet up for some catching up once in a while!

We've decided to watch Grown Ups because I've seen a couple of positive movie reviews on the net so I thought that we could have a try at this movie. I wanted to catch Going The Distance initially but got to realise just today that its categorised under M18. Speaking of movie grading, I've yet to catch any nice NC16 shows till today, although I'm going 17 in a month's time! I guess I should really spend some time heading to the cinemas these few days. I'm proud to say that you'd love this film if you're in for a good laugh, at least we feel that our money was well spent! Haha.

We had our lunch over at Coffee Bean. We did spend some time locating this cafe due to the large proximity of Vivo City. As usual, I ordered Chicken Bolognese Pasta as I do not prefer having sandwiches (I don't like salads). Catherine, on the other hand, ordered the Smoked Salmon Sandwich which turns out really disastrous. The salmon was raw and it possesses a pungent smell when savoured. To add it on, the Iced Tea served along with the set meal seems bitter and somewhat tasteless. I somehow regretted opting for Iced Tea instead of the Hot Tea (at least I could add milk or sugar according to my preference). So I managed to capture a picture of Catherine's meal but missed out on Peishan's and mine as I'm too hungry and savoured at the dish immediately it was served to me.

We went up to the Sky Garden at the roof top after our movie and had some photo taking! It has great sceneries there as we could vividly overlook the skyline of Sentosa Island as well as the harbourfront port.

Catherine accidentally covered part of the camera lens with her finger.

The harbourfront port.

Singapore Cruise Center. It somehow made me rekindled the other time when I headed off to Bintan over at Tanah Merah Cruise Center. How I misses those times! :(

I guess that's all for the photos since you could view them over my facebook album! I'm pretty lazy to upload all to blogger though. Anyway, I'll be out with bibi tmrw to MBS, since I've never got a chance to visit there ever since its opening. Till then, I shall harp on another mini outing! x

Neutron Stars Collide

I've been spending hours and hours hoggling in front of my computer, browsing through the numerous sites in search for a pretty pair of pumps and maybe some pretty apparels these days. My life had been these mundane and boring. Anyway, I've recently made my purchase on a Supre versatile cardigan in white, ASOS crochet waisted belt, AE cocktail dress etc. I'm still awaiting the seller's reply regarding the C&K studded pumps as well as denim grey jeggings. Sometimes I loathe the fact that some buyers would comment asking you to mail them and when you do so, they simply ignore your mails. How frustrating is that huh?

It's towards the end of the month and I've yet to receive my pay. I'm going to be broke soon, given the rate I've been splurging. Would be meeting up tmrw with both Catherine and Peishan after many months!! I hope my pay would be transacted really soon because I don't wanna spend my remaining holidays with a dying bank account D: It would simply means that I would not be able to go anywhere to have fun! How pathetic is that, imagine holidays cooping up at home?

We've been through 11 months of bitter and sweet, hand in hand.

I think both of us look really sweet in here. Don't y'all think so? :D

Breaded Chicken and Fish & Chips.

USA Fries Platter and Calamari.

Both of us love the calamari so much! However, after we've finished our main course, we are too full to even consume the fries. Hence, we had to take away that instead. Anyway, I love my Treasure Island Float because I just love vanilla icecream, mixed with root beer.

Bibi looking all contented and full after his meal (you can judge that from his empty plate). So we decided to have a walk around Terminal 3 and found a corner to sit down and talk. Bibi got so tired since he had minimal sleep the previous nights. We then decided to end our day here since we'll be meeting up next Monday again. Lastly, a happy 11th month to you! A month more to a really special day, ♥

Shopping Makes Your World Go Round

A really boring day for me today because bibi went to chalet since last evening and I'm trapped at home, staring still on my computer screen, browsing through numerous ljs on SG Flea. Anyway, I've collected my New Look Suede Heels from the post office this morning. Tried it on and I'm proud to say that it fits my feet perfectly! A really gorgeous and comfortable pair of heels to own.

It somehow exudes the mary-jane vibes, with a cute lil ribbon tied in the front. I'll declare that I'm absolutely in love with it right now. Hehe. I'm excited when it comes to fashion, especially the euphoria you'll get when you receive new loots. I couldn't seem to wait to receive my AE dress and HH top. Imma happy girl right now.

Sidetracking a little, I packed my room today. Got myself an accessory holder to hold all my bracelets and stuffs. It also signifies that I shall get more accessories to fill up that holder, girls are afterall girls! No? Currently, I'm looking forward to meeting bibi in the East tmrw. Our 11th month ♥

Small Lil Things That Brighten Up Your Day

Been a couple of days since I've officially ended my mooncake job. I must say that its definitely one of the many jobs that I've persisted till the end. Kudos for myself for not giving up but grit my teeth through. Still, I must thank every single souls there, for being really patient and friendly towards me, that made my 1 week vacation job so fruitful and memorable. I can't help but comment that Marriott really live up to its reputation for being one of the top 10 best employers in Singapore. It'll definitely be one of my top choices of the many hotels made available during my internship in near future.

A couple of candids that I took in the midst of work. Its the 22nd today and I'm looking forward to Irene's call regarding my pay. I bet bibi shares the same sentiments as me.

Purchased a couple of items when I was blogshopping at SG Flea these 2 days. You know you'll get the feeling when you received something in your mailbox? It's like a little surprise awaiting you each time you unwrap a parcel. I happened to receive my New Look Suede Heels via reg mail today but coincidentally, nobody happens to be at home at the point of time and I've to go to the post office tmrw to collect it. I shall cross my fingers in hope that the size would fit perfectly for me! On the other hand, I purchased a gorgeous dress from AE which I'm really excited to receive it! Side tracking a little, I've still not yet to purchase my flats and bag for school purpose. Any recommendations?

Take A Break

Irene placed both bibi and me off for today after 2 days of hard work. I was located to Change Alley for the first day together with two other girls, Vivien and Xiwen. Glad to say that the first day of work was rather slack because the operation hours for the booth for Change Alley is only till 7pm. Really glad because we'll only get busy during lunch hours which is from 12pm till 3pm, when all the office workers started heading out for lunch. Spent some time taking the cab with Vivien down from Marriott to Change Alley before setting up our booths and sitting around while waiting for customers to patronise. However, my feets were really tired at the end of the day. I'm happy that I've "survived" my first day of work hehe. Not forgetting meeting bibi after work is a real joy.

Second day of the work, I was placed at Marriott Hotel for packing of mooncakes as I heard that they lack manpower for packing. It was much more tougher than doing sales at Change Alley though, since I got to maintain my alertness throughout the day and not get to sit down and slack around during off peak hours. Bibi got the better task as he is out for delivery via cab for the entire morning, and only came back to join me for packing around 2pm odd. I'm still glad that I've bibi with me. Work ended early at 7pm since we've cleared all the mooncakes that we're supposed to pack for the day.

Spent my off day today surfing the net and catching up some of my shows from Mio TV. Headed off to bibi's house in the afternoon. A couple more days of work to go before I really get to enjoy my holidays. 4 or 5 more days, I'll be chirping like a bird for joy. I could only hope that work tmrw would goes off well and Irene would place me either at Hotel or Change Alley as I get to knock off from work early!! If not, I gotta make bibi wait for me :( Insya'Allah.

Mixed Feeling

My title said it all. Today... Should be a happy day. Yet, I doesn't seems to feel any cringe of happiness or joy at all. So, maybe you guys are thinking what's the reason that I should be happy? Today marks the end of my examinations, maths was rather easy for me and I'm able to solve almost all of the questions except for a 1-mark question and I received my pay from TCC. On a side note, talking about the maths exam, I felt exasperating because the only question that I did not manage to solve is actually a really easy question for most of them - Mean. But as much as it's a waste, it doesn't really affect my mood.

Anyway, the main reason that lead to my downside is due to the fact that I'm commencing my temporary assignment tmrw, got informed just yesterday from Irene that I'll be located at Raffles City whereas bibi would be at Marriot Hotel (Headquarter) doing packing of mooncakes as well as delivery. In other words, I'll be standing for 12 hours straight daily (with only 1 hour of break) consecutively for 7 days. On the other hand, bibi got to chill in the vehicle while he's doing his delivery! To add on, my friend told me that the booth over at Raffles City had no air-conditioner and I gotta work with 2 other workers from China (No tertiary students but me). This sucks because its equivalent that I've got nobody to talk to or relatively people with common topics to chat with, during times when I feel like slacking. I even have to endure the heat in the booth throughout the entire day. I can presume that time is gonna tick by itself at a really slow speed. How am i supposed to endure the unearthly 12 hours each day!! :( I just hope that the China workers are gonna be friendly to me and nice to work with, if not, life is just gonna be tough.

On a positive note, its gonna last me for a week only! C'mon, I'm sure i can do this. 1 week, just 1 week. After which, I can enjoy the rest of my holidays be it lazing around at home or going out with bibi :D I'm going to look forward to it and survive this challenge!! Hah, I made it sound like mission impossible.

Oh yes, did I mention that today was a turmoil when Tricia, Gordon, bibi and me head down to Clarke Quay after school to collect our pay? We waited there for quite some time just to speak with the Director of Operations because the other guy - Pravin wasn't around. We're totally unhappy/disappointed/furious/mad/upset/pissed with TCC's way of operation. To give you some background story: We were supposed to work for TCC for the mooncake event dated way back to 22 August. TCC claimed that we are able to start work approximately between 22 - 24 August but a woman called me up around 24 August telling me that the mooncake job has been postponed due to some problems with the negotiation process. So, I accepted the explanations and agreed that they'll call me SOON after the event is able to resume. I felt baffled inside because aren't they supposed to have already CONFIRMED our roles with the respective hotels since they even asked us to come down to confirm our dates of availabilities and schedules of the job. From then on, I've waited for about 3 weeks for that mooncake job yet there's no news at all. Only managed to hear from Tricia that it had been cancelled after she made a call to TCC. They even encouraged us to take up some of their other jobs that are available which are literally restricted to banquets. To be frank, I accepted the RWS recommendations just because you promised to offer me the mooncake job after the RWS had ended. The experience with MICE @ RWS isn't a pleasant one and it left me with a bad impression with their management. So, I didn't accept any of their banquets recommendation anymore and WE would like to have a refund of our typhoid money since we took it because we wanted to work for the mooncake. In the end, the deal is called off. We are unable to achieve the 150 hours as stated, since we aren't able to work for mooncake. Isn't it liberty that you should refund us the typhoid money due to your miscommunication among employees? So what's all the 'taking time to process' about? Is it for the sake of saving your company's reputation of not admitting to your mistakes on your part? Anyway, a piece of advice for you, as well as your company, in future DO allow your employees to communicate better be it verbal or written because from what I see, the state of your HR department is in a state of battlefield assimilation. Do learn how to organise and handle each employees' work instead of being SO disorganised and having everything messed up. I beg to differ with your point that every decision have to be "process" up to your top management before coming to a conclusion because its really time-consuming - not yours, but your workers/customers. I'm expecting an answer from you by wednesday as what you have requested.

I'm gonna end my post with a picture of my cute lil boyfee, never fails to brighten me up. ^^

Sayang, I hope you'll be able to persevere through your work alright! Do remember that I'll always be tolling with you (though not side by side) whenever you feel upsetting or frustrated in the midst of work. You're not alone. Even if your colleagues are people that are hostile and selfish, always remember that such an encounter would build you stronger. Never admit defeat, but overcome them. If you feel really tired and unable to take it, give yourself a break, take a rest. Don't try too hard and put on a strong front alright? Whenever you feel bored, think of me. Whenever you feel like giving up, think of the pay, think of me, I'm persevering on like you. At the end of the 7 days, we'll get to enjoy the fruits of our labour. It's just 7 days, praise yourself for everyday you've accomplished, time would pass. I'll sayang you at the end of everyday you've persevered through. :') Luv you ♥

Selamat Hari Raya Idul Fitri 1431H!

Minal Aidzin Wal Faidzin..
Mohon maaf lahir dan batin (ke org indo) / Mohon maaf zahir dan batin (ke org sg).
Taqobbalallahu minna wa minkum, taqobbal ya kariim.

I don't know why it seems to be bothering me. These few days I just don't feeling like staying at home. Sometimes it even go to the extent that I'm envying other families, where their parents would actually bring them out on every weekends for their "family day" on Sunday. Looking at mine, it seems to be the contrary. Thinking back, I wondered its been years since my parents actually brought us out for our "family day". The only times whereby we're out together is just to visit our maternal grandparents on specific days. Otherwise, they'll be cooped up at home staring at their computer screens, playing Farmville. I don't know what's wrong with my dad, he'll always seems to pick on me at the slightest details a
nd starts to nag on and off. Somehow, I felt tired hearing of his naggings and dread staying at home when he's around. Weekends which I've always hoped for, isn't as beautiful as it is anymore.

Last day of Puase

Selamat Idul Fitri / Lebaran / Hari Raya to all muslims out there!
mohon maaf lahir dan batin ya :')
mksihh iantt tuk gambar dech..

Today marks the end of Puase and I headed over to bibi's house for buker right after my science paper. I'm rather glad that most of the questions that came out were those that I knew - Biology has a higher weightage. So I was rather happy when I chanced upon the questions! I spent most of my time studying for my upcoming maths test this monday while bibi was busy cleaning up his house in preparation for tmrw's hari raya. Gotta admit that I was really shy and in a loss of what to do (the feeling is much more nervous than getting our O level results) because this is the first time that I've ever ate with my boyfriend's family. Maybe next time it'll be his turn to eat with mine, haha! I shall find the "right" time to bring him over to my house to meet my mum sometime. Anyway, his mum cooked awesome dishes and snacks. I know that Dhea would definitely drool upon the ayam masak merah which i like a lot as well.

Can't wait to get my pay on the 13th $.$ I'm anticipating!!
