If you know me well, you would have known how much I love travelling. My last getaway was dated 2 months ago to Pulau Bintan, Riau Islands, Indonesia. I must say that the island was love at first sight. Till now, I'm still immersed with the tranquility, amicablility, serenity, peaceablity and all the vocabularies that I could think out to express how much I've enjoyed myself on the little island. I just love everything on the island - ranging from its food (Nasi Goreng Jawa especially), seawater (crystal-clear water), beach (waste-free sand), air, facilities, resources, amiable staffs, sceneries, entertainments, deep blue sky, away-from-city thrills and plenty of uncountable things to describe. In my opinion, the only thing that they've lack is to sell their exclusive Jus Alpukat, which happens to be my favourite and I'll never fail to order it whenever I visit Ria Ayam Penyet (Lucky Plaza).
Definitely, its a place that's worth your visit especially its just an hour of boat ride from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal. Nonetheless, I still miss Jakarta's food. Bintan's one, though mouth-watery, is still not as original as it seems since it had altered its menu to suit the taste of most fellow Singaporeans - their main consumers are still Singaporeans.
If you're one of those whom sought after original Indonesian food and am planning to give Jakarta a visit, you may want to give these places a try.
1. Pondok Laguna (Focus on Sundanese, Jawa Barat Cuisines)
Location: Jalan Batu Tulis Raya 45 Gambir, Petojo Utara, Jakarta Pusat.
Some dishes that you must try are Gurame Goreng, Kangkung Cah, Tahu Kipas (my favourite), Sambal Cobek (my favourite), Sate Ayam and many more!
2. Seribu Rasa Restoran (Focus on Southeast Asian Cuisines)
Location: Jl. Haji Agus Salim 128, Menteng, Jakarta Pusat.
A very good ambience and appreciation of a range of Indonesian ethnic architectures since its buildings are built consisting of reminiscent of Joglo, Balinese, Sundanese and many other varieties.
Some dishes that you must try out are Semilir Brastagi, Lumpia Crab Mabuhay and more. Prices are affordable as well.

I am from Denpasar and your review of the restoran gave me a guide to where to find some places of good food. Would be going to Jakarta Pusat in a few weeks time, thank you!
